SEN Supply Teaching Assistant

Wimborne | Full-Time Position | September to October Half Term Start

Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting a motivated and enthusiastic SEN Supply Teaching Assistant for a full-time opportunity within a specialist educational provision in Wimborne starting from September to October half term.

This position offers the chance to support learners who require additional guidance to reach their personal and academic goals. We are seeking individuals with relevant experience who can quickly become a valued member of the team and provide consistent support from day one.

 

About the Opportunity

This is a varied and highly rewarding role where no two days are the same. You will assist young people with a range of learning difficulties, communication needs, and social, emotional, and mental health challenges while helping them engage positively with education.

  • Supporting pupils during lessons and structured activities.
  • Promoting engagement and participation across the curriculum.
  • Encouraging independence, self-esteem, and personal development.
  • Helping manage behaviours using positive reinforcement techniques.
  • Working collaboratively with teachers and multidisciplinary professionals.
  • Assisting with tailored learning programmes and individual targets.
  • Contributing towards a supportive and welcoming atmosphere.

 

The Ideal Candidate

  • Previous experience supporting children or young people within education, SEND, residential care, youth services, or similar sectors.
  • The ability to establish rapport and trust quickly.
  • A proactive approach and willingness to take initiative.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence.
  • Confidence adapting to different situations and learner needs.
  • A genuine commitment to improving outcomes for vulnerable students.

We are specifically looking for candidates who can hit the ground running and confidently contribute from the outset.
