SEN Teaching Assistant – Specialist SEN Unit
Location: Weymouth, Dorset
Contract: By agreement (full-time preferred)

Are you a caring and committed Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting children with additional needs?
We are delighted to be working with a welcoming and inclusive school in Weymouth who are seeking a SEN Teaching Assistant to join their specialist SEN unit. You’ll be working alongside a lovely, supportive and experienced team who are dedicated to helping every child thrive in a nurturing and structured environment.

The Role:
- Support pupils within the school’s SEN unit, working closely with individual children and small groups
- Help pupils access learning in a calm, inclusive and supportive environment
- Support communication, social development and emotional regulation
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCO and specialist staff
- Encourage independence, confidence and positive engagement
The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Have experience supporting children with SEN (desirable, not essential)
- Be patient, nurturing and understanding of individual needs
- Enjoy working as part of a close-knit, supportive team
- Hold a DBS on the Update Service (preferable) or be happy to apply
- Be able to drive or commute reliably to the school (preferable)
- Bring a positive, flexible and proactive attitude to the role

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
