We are proud to be working with a welcoming mainstream school in Weymouth that is seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join their Specialist Resourced Provision (SRP) for Communication and Interaction. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a skilled and compassionate team making a real difference to pupils with additional needs.

We are seeking dedicated SEND TA to join our Specialist Resourced Provision (SRP) for Communication and Interaction, a unique and nurturing setting within our mainstream school. Our SRP provides targeted support for pupils with EHCPs whose primary need is Communication and Interaction, many of whom are autistic, ADHD, or experience other neurodiverse profiles. Children benefit from a blend of small-group specialist sessions and time in mainstream classes, supported closely by our skilled team.

The Role:

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils within the SRP and mainstream settings
  • Support pupils with Communication and Interaction needs, including autism and ADHD
  • Help pupils access the curriculum and develop social, emotional and communication skills
  • Work closely with teachers, the SENCO and specialist staff
  • Promote independence, confidence and positive engagement in learning

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Have experience supporting children with SEND (desirable, not essential)
  • Be patient, caring and understanding of neurodiversity
  • Be confident supporting pupils both in specialist sessions and mainstream classes
  • Have a calm, positive and proactive approach
  • Be committed to inclusive practice and pupil wellbeing

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
