Job description

Help Shape Young Futures — Every Day Counts

Sometimes, all it takes is the right support at the right time to transform a young person’s school experience. A little patience, encouragement, and consistency can unlock confidence, build resilience, and help pupils thrive.

We’re currently seeking enthusiastic, adaptable individuals to work in schools across the Thetford area as Unqualified Teaching Assistants. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain real classroom experience while making a meaningful difference in pupils’ daily learning and development.

If you’re reliable, compassionate, and motivated to support young people, this role could be the ideal next step.

The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you’ll play a key role in supporting teachers and helping pupils succeed—both academically and personally.

You’ll contribute to creating a positive, inclusive learning environment where every pupil feels supported, valued, and ready to engage.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting pupils during lessons to improve focus, understanding, and participation
  • Assisting with literacy and numeracy activities
  • Encouraging positive behaviour through consistency and clear communication
  • Helping maintain a structured, safe, and inclusive classroom setting
  • Working collaboratively with teachers and staff to support pupil progress and wellbeing

No two days are the same—but the impact you make will be.

What We’re Looking For

You don’t need formal qualifications—what matters most is your attitude, reliability, and willingness to learn.

We’re looking for individuals who are:

  • Calm, patient, and resilient
  • Positive role models with a confident, approachable manner
  • Flexible and comfortable working across different school environments
  • Strong communicators who work well within a team

Experience in education, childcare, care work, coaching, or youth support is beneficial, but not essential.

What You’ll Receive

When you join us, you’ll benefit from:

  • Ongoing CPD training and development opportunities
  • A Guaranteed Work Scheme (for eligible applicants) offering added financial security
  • Competitive weekly pay
  • Additional pay for longer commutes or extended hours
  • Easy-to-use digital systems
  • Continued guidance and support from a dedicated consultant

Essential Requirement

A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle are essential, as travel between schools may be required at short notice.
