Teaching Assistant – Secondary School in Tameside

Make a Difference in the Classroom!
Are you looking for a role that allows you to make a direct impact on students' lives? We're seeking a committed Teaching Assistant to join a secondary school in Tameside. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about education and wants to support students in their academic and personal development.

Your Role:
As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the classroom teacher to ensure that students are actively engaged in their learning and making progress. You will assist with lesson preparation, provide additional support to students who need it, and help maintain a positive and productive classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborating with teachers to plan and deliver engaging lessons that cater to a variety of learning styles.
  • Providing one-to-one or small group support for students, helping them understand lesson content and complete tasks.
  • Supporting students with behavioural and emotional needs, encouraging positive behaviour and self-regulation.
  • Preparing learning materials, setting up classroom resources, and assisting with administrative tasks such as marking and record-keeping.
  • Helping students develop important social and communication skills in and out of the classroom.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Previous experience in a similar role is desirable, but not essential.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with teachers, students, and other staff members.
  • A positive, proactive attitude with a genuine passion for supporting students.
  • The ability to adapt to different teaching styles and student needs.
  • Patience, empathy, and enthusiasm for working with young people.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
