Job Title: Key Stage 1 Teaching Assistant (Summer Term)
Location: Sunderland, Tyne and Wear
Start Date: 1st June
Contract Type: Fixed-term (Summer Term)
Working Hours: Full-time (Monday–Friday, school hours)
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to support Key Stage 1 pupils for the summer term, starting on 1st June. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about education and eager to make a positive impact on young learners during a crucial stage of their development.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and effective lessons
- Work with small groups and individual pupils to reinforce learning
- Assist in the preparation of classroom materials and resources
- Help manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies
- Provide additional support for pupils with varying learning needs
- Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment
Requirements
- Previous experience working with children in an educational setting (preferred)
- A good understanding of Key Stage 1 curriculum
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A patient, nurturing, and proactive approach
- Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant) are desirable
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
