Full-Time Teaching Assistant (1:1 Support)

Contract: Full-time, Term-time only

About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant (1:1 Support) to join our vibrant and welcoming school in NG3, Nottingham. This is a fantastic opportunity to work closely with a child who requires additional support in a nurturing and inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 support for a pupil with specific learning needs, ensuring their educational and social development.

• Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering engaging learning activities tailored to the child’s needs.

• Foster a positive and encouraging learning environment to support the pupil’s confidence and independence.

• Implement and adapt strategies to support the child's engagement and participation in lessons.

• Monitor progress and provide feedback to teachers, SENCO, and parents.

• Support the child’s social and emotional well-being, promoting positive behaviour.

• Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and external professionals.

Requirements:

• Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar support role, ideally in a school setting.

• Experience supporting children with special educational needs (SEN) is highly desirable.

• A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to working with children.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.

• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

• Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification) are advantageous but not essential.
