Location: Redruth, Cornwall
Contract Type: Full-Time / Part-Time (Flexible)
Salary: Competitive, based on experience and qualifications

Are you passionate about supporting young people in their secondary education journey? Our thriving secondary school in Redruth is looking for a motivated, compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our team and help make a real difference to students’ learning and wellbeing.
About the Role:
You will work alongside subject teachers and support staff to assist students in a variety of lessons, helping them access the curriculum and develop confidence. This includes supporting students with additional learning needs, managing small group work, and contributing to a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Assist teachers in delivering engaging lessons across different subjects

Support students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)
-
Help manage behaviour and maintain a focused learning atmosphere
-
Contribute to planning and preparation of resources
-
Support students’ social and emotional development
-
Participate in staff meetings and training as needed
Who We’re Looking For:
-
Experience working in a secondary school or with secondary-aged students is preferred
-
Relevant qualifications such as NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent, or a willingness to work towards them

Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
-
A patient, flexible approach and commitment to inclusion and safeguarding
-
Enthusiasm for helping young people achieve their full potential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
