SEN Learning Support Assistant – Par Area

Teaching Personnel are seeking a dedicated SEN Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive primary setting based in the Par area. This is a rewarding long‑term role supporting children with a range of Special Educational Needs, helping them to feel safe, engaged, and successful in their learning.

About the Role

You will be working closely with pupils who require additional support due to SEND needs such as:

• Autism (ASC)
• Speech, language and communication difficulties
• Social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH)
• Cognitive learning difficulties

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing 1:1 or small‑group support
• Adapting learning activities to meet individual needs
• Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour
• Encouraging independence and confidence
• Working collaboratively with teachers and SEN staff
• Creating a nurturing and structured learning environment

This role is ideal for someone calm, patient, and committed to helping every child reach their potential.

What We’re Looking For

We welcome applicants from backgrounds such as:

• SEN support
• Care or residential work
• Youth work
• Early years or childcare
• Psychology, criminology, or education graduates

Ideal candidates will bring:

• Empathy, resilience, and strong communication
• A genuine passion for supporting additional needs

• A Child Workforce DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
