Teaching Assistant

Location: Pembroke

Hours: 8:30 – 3:30

Salary: £13.75 per hour

 

Teaching Personnel are looking for an enthusiastic, initiative taking and resilient individual to work in one of our thriving and inclusive Secondary Schools in Pembrokeshire. We are committed to supporting every learner to achieve their full potential and are seeking a dedicated and caring Teaching Assistant to join the team.

The successful candidate will work closely with pupils across the school, with a particular focus on supporting learners within two Additional Learning Needs (ALN) units, which provide specialist provision for pupils requiring enhanced support.

The Role:

  • Support pupils with a range of additional learning needs, both within the ALN units and in mainstream classrooms
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, ALN staff, and external professionals
  • Assist with the delivery of personalised learning programmes
  • Support pupils’ academic progress, social development, and emotional wellbeing
  • Help create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment

We Are Looking For Someone Who:

  • Has experience working with children or young people, ideally within an ALN/SEN setting
  • Confidence, resilience, and the ability to remain calm in difficult situations
  • Demonstrates patience, empathy, and a genuine commitment to inclusion
  • Can work effectively as part of a team and use their own initiative
  • Has good communication and organisational skills
  • Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Enhanced DBS (child workforce) or willingness to obtain one

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
