Teaching Assistant – Northampton
Location: Northampton
Pay: £90–£105 per day, dependent on experience
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday | 8:30am–3:00pm
Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting a Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school in Northampton. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children and wants to make a positive difference to the next generation.
We would ideally like to hear from candidates with previous LSA, HLTA, Teaching Assistant or classroom support experience. Graduates are also encouraged to apply, particularly those considering a future career in teaching or education.
Most importantly, we're looking for someone who is patient, caring, reliable and genuinely enjoys working with children.
The Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and pupils to provide support throughout the school day. Your responsibilities may include:
- Supporting pupils with their learning and completing classroom activities.
- Working with individual students or small groups who require additional support.
- Helping teachers create a positive and engaging learning environment.
- Encouraging pupils to participate and build confidence in their learning.
- Supporting classroom behaviour and promoting positive attitudes.
- Providing reassurance and encouragement to children when needed.
- Helping prepare classroom resources and learning activities.
- Working alongside teaching staff to meet the needs of individual pupils.
- Following school policies, safeguarding procedures and professional expectations.
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate will:
- Have previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, LSA, HLTA or similar role.
- Alternatively, have experience working with children or young people in another setting.
- Be patient, approachable and supportive.
- Have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Be reliable and committed to working Monday to Friday, 8:30am–3:00pm.
- Be confident working independently as well as part of a wider school team.
- Have a genuine passion for helping children learn, develop and succeed.
- Be adaptable and willing to support pupils with different needs.
- Hold, or be willing to obtain, an Enhanced DBS.
