Job Title: 1:1 Teaching Assistant
Location: Newport
Hours: Full-Time, Monday – Friday, 8:30 am – 3:30 pm
Salary: £92.95 per day
Start Date: 13th April 2026

The Role
As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will provide tailored support to pupils who require additional assistance with their learning and development. You will play a key role in fostering a positive, supportive, and engaging environment both for the pupils you support and the wider classroom.
Working closely with the class teacher, you will help deliver structured activities and ensure each pupil has the opportunity to thrive.
Key Responsibilities
- Build strong, positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
- Support pupils on a 1:1 basis, encouraging engagement and confidence
- Demonstrate patience, professionalism, and a nurturing approach
- Assist with classroom management and daily learning activities
- Help manage behaviour effectively to maintain a focused learning environment
- Provide emotional support where needed
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- Compassionate, patient, and motivated
- Experienced in working with children
- Confident supporting pupils with additional needs
- Able to communicate effectively and work as part of a team
Requirements
- Child Only DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
- Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) (support available)
- Two professional references covering the past 24 months
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
