Teaching Assistant – SEN Provision
Lymington | Full Time | Immediate Start
Teaching Personnel are working with a well-regarded mainstream secondary school in Lymington who are looking for a committed and experienced Teaching Assistant to join their SEN provision on a full-time basis.
The school supports students with a range of additional needs, including Autism, ADHD, SEMH and behavioural needs and the successful candidate will work closely within the school's specialist provision, helping students to access their education and feel supported throughout the school day.
This is initially a 6-week position, with the potential for the role to continue on a longer-term basis and potentially become permanent for the right person.
The Role
You will be working as part of a supportive team within the school's SEN provision, building positive relationships with students and providing both educational and pastoral support. The role will involve helping students manage their learning, behaviour and emotions, while encouraging independence and engagement wherever possible.
We are looking for someone who is calm, patient and consistent, with the confidence to support students who may present with a range of challenges.
The successful candidate will:
- Have previous experience working in a school setting – this is essential
- Have experience supporting children or young people with SEN
- Ideally have experience working with Autism, ADHD, SEMH or behavioural needs
- Be confident managing challenging behaviour in a calm and positive way
- Have excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Be patient, resilient and able to remain consistent when supporting students
- Be committed to helping students make progress both academically and personally
- Be available to start immediately

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
