Teaching Assistant Job – Leyland
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a committed and adaptable Teaching Assistant to work within a friendly mainstream primary school in Leyland, starting in September 2026. This is a temp-to-perm role, ideal for someone looking to build a long-term career in education.
As a general classroom Teaching Assistant, you will provide essential support to pupils and teachers, with a particular focus on assisting children with Special Educational Needs (SEND). This is a rewarding role where you can make a meaningful impact on pupils’ learning and development.
Key Responsibilities
- Support teaching staff in delivering engaging lessons across the curriculum
- Provide targeted support for pupils with SEND, both 1:1 and in small groups
- Promote inclusion and ensure all pupils can access learning opportunities
- Assist with classroom management and behaviour support
- Help prepare and organise classroom resources
- Contribute to a safe and nurturing school environment
Requirements
- Experience working with children or young people
- Knowledge or experience of SEND support in education
- Positive, flexible, and reliable attitude
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Level 3 qualification desirable but not essential
