Job description

Location: Chatham

Salary: £85-£100 (Dependent on experience)

Job type: SEN Teaching assistant

Do you have experience working with children who have SEN or any transferable skills?

SEN teaching assistant duties:

  • Support pupils with SEN in the classroom and during break/lunchtime activities
  • Maintain the classroom equipment in a safe and tidy condition
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment
  • Assisting the class teacher
  • Provide teaching and learning support

EXPERIENCE WITHIN A SCHOOL IS NOT NECESSARY AS LONG AS YOU HAVE THE PASSION AND COMMITMENT TO WORK WITH CHILDREN!

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have previous experience working with SEN children (not essential)
  • Hold a valid DBS on the update service (or be willing to apply for one)
  • Have the passion and drive to work with children - Must
  • Able to use own initiative to get involved – Must

As part of safer recruitment guidelines all applicants would be subject to standard vetting checks including

  • Enhanced DBS on the update service- this can be applied for through Teaching Personnel
  • 2 most recent employment references covering the last 24 months.
  • Applicants who have lived outside of the UK for 6 months or more in the last 5 years will be required to present an overseas criminal check (Police check)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
