General Teaching Assistant (KS1) – Primary School in Helston
Start Date: 1st February 2026
Contract Type: Ongoing supply (via Teaching Personnel)
Pay: £89–£95 per day
Working Pattern: Flexible – full-time and part-time opportunities available
Teaching Personnel are working closely with a local primary school in Helston to recruit a General Teaching Assistant to support Key Stage 1 pupils. This ongoing supply role is ideal for someone seeking flexibility while working consistently within a friendly, community-focused school.
You’ll play a key role in supporting young learners at a crucial stage of their development, helping to create a positive and engaging classroom experience.
About the Role:

Supporting KS1 pupils within the classroom

Assisting the class teacher with daily lessons and activities
-
Working with small groups and individual children to reinforce learning
-
Promoting positive behaviour and emotional well-being

Helping to maintain a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment
What We’re Looking For:
✔ Experience working with children, ideally in a school setting
✔ A caring, proactive and flexible approach
✔ Strong communication and teamwork skills
✔ Availability for flexible working hours
✔ A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
