Teaching Assistant - Hedge End
Start Date: March 2026
We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and reliable Teaching Assistant to support a number of friendly and inclusive primary schools in Hedge End and the surrounding areas. This flexible role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working in different school settings, value work–life balance, and are passionate about helping children achieve their best.
About the Role:

Working alongside class teachers to support learning and daily classroom activities.

Providing tailored support to individual pupils or small groups.
-
Assisting with the delivery of engaging and accessible lessons.
-
Supporting positive behaviour and maintaining a safe, inclusive learning environment.
-
Encouraging pupils’ confidence, independence, and overall progress.

Following school policies, procedures, and safeguarding guidelines.
What We’re Looking For:

Experience working with children in a school or educational setting (EYFS, KS1 and/or KS2).

A Teaching Assistant qualification or relevant classroom experience (desirable but not essential).
-
A patient, adaptable, and supportive approach to learning.
-
Confidence assisting with classroom management and routines.
-
Ability to work effectively one-to-one or with small groups.
-
A professional, dependable attitude and a strong commitment to safeguarding.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
