We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic general Teaching Assistant to join a friendly and inclusive Key Stage 1 team at a welcoming primary school in the Fareham area. This full-time role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting young children at a vital stage in their learning and development.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Experience working with children in KS1 or a primary school setting (desirable).
- A nurturing, patient, and supportive approach to learning and behaviour.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
- Confidence supporting pupils of mixed abilities within the classroom.
- A proactive, reliable, and enthusiastic attitude.
- A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential).
Key Responsibilities
- Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and age-appropriate KS1 lessons.
- Provide general classroom support, including one-to-one and small group work.
- Assist with phonics, early reading, writing, and numeracy activities.
- Help create a safe, positive, and stimulating learning environment.
- Encourage positive behaviour, independence, and confidence in young learners.
- Support pupils’ social, emotional, and academic development.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
