Teaching Assistant (Supply) / SEN Teaching Assistant Opportunities

Location: Exeter and surrounding areas, Devon
Pay: £92.63 – £100 per day
Contract: Flexible – Supply / Part-Time / Full-Time options
Start Date: ASAP (flexible start dates available)

Teaching Personnel is currently seeking enthusiastic, adaptable and compassionate Teaching Assistants, including SEN Teaching Assistants, to work on a supply basis across a range of partner schools in Exeter and the surrounding areas. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who are passionate about supporting pupils with a variety of needs and are looking for flexible work that fits around their availability.

Supply work offers a diverse range of experiences across mainstream and SEN settings, different year groups, and varying levels of additional need. This makes it ideal for both experienced Teaching Assistants and SEN TAs, as well as those looking to build their classroom or specialist support experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support pupils in EYFS, Key Stage 1, and Key Stage 2, including those with additional needs
  • Provide tailored support as a SEN Teaching Assistant, working with pupils with ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and other learning needs
  • Assist the class teacher with learning activities and classroom management
  • Deliver 1:1 and small group interventions where required
  • Help create a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
  • Support pupils to access the curriculum in line with their individual needs

We’re looking for:

  • Previous experience working with children (school-based or transferable experience)
  • Experience or interest in SEN support is highly desirable
  • A positive, proactive, and flexible approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A passion for supporting children’s learning and development

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
