I'm recruiting Teaching Assistants for secondary schools across Durham starting September 2026. If you're looking for TA work in a supportive school environment and you've got experience working with young people, I'd love to hear from you.

These roles suit experienced TAs looking for new opportunities as well as people with relevant experience (youth work, coaching, childcare, support work) who want to move into education. September start gives you time to get everything in place and prepare for the new academic year.

What you'll be doing:

  • Supporting students across KS3 and KS4 in various subjects

  • Assisting teachers with classroom management and resources

  • Building positive relationships with students and staff
  • Contributing to a supportive and inclusive learning environment

You'll need:

  • Experience working with children or young people (in schools, youth work, coaching, childcare, or similar)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patience, adaptability, and a positive approach
  • Commitment to safeguarding and supporting student wellbeing
  • Enhanced DBS on Update Service (or willingness to apply)
  • Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning is desirable but not essential

What you get:

  • Competitive daily rates
  • Full-time and part-time opportunities
  • Weekly pay via PAYE
  • Access to free CPD and training
  • Support from me as your dedicated consultant
  • Opportunities for long-term and permanent positions
  • Work in supportive Durham schools

September 2026 start means you've got time to think about what you want from a TA role and find the right school for you. I work with a range of Durham secondary schools and can match you with settings that suit your experience and preferences.
