Teaching Assistant
Job description
Teaching Assistant, Durham Secondary Schools
Long-term placements, competitive daily rates, start immediately
Several Durham secondary schools have long-term Teaching Assistant vacancies open now. The placements are with established support teams, so you would be joining people who know the students well and can show you the ropes quickly.
Day to day, you will mostly be sitting alongside students who need a bit more help to keep up, whether that is in the classroom or in small groups pulled out for extra practice. Some of the students you support will have SEND, so a sense of what works for different learners is helpful.
You will need:
- Previous experience as a TA or in a similar school role
- Patience and a steady approach with teenagers
- A Level 3 qualification if you have one, though experience counts for a lot
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply
What you get:
- Competitive daily pay, weekly via PAYE
- Free CPD and SEND training
- A consultant who knows the schools and picks up the phone
- A route into permanent roles where schools have them
Contract: long-term. Start: ASAP. Location: Durham secondary schools.
Send your CV or call 0191 223 5071.
All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see the FAQ’s on the Teaching Personnel website for details.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
