SEN Teaching Assistant (1:1 Support) – Immediate Start

Contract: Full-time, Term-time Only

As a specialist education recruiter, I am working closely with a fantastic Middle School in Dorset that is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a pupil with additional needs. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a passion for supporting children who require tailored, compassionate, and consistent assistance throughout their school day.

The Role

You will be working on a one-to-one basis with a pupil who requires additional support with their learning, engagement, and emotional regulation. Working alongside the class teacher and SENCo, you’ll help ensure the pupil receives the personalised guidance they need to thrive both academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver individualised support to a designated pupil on a 1:1 basis.
• Assist with classroom learning, adapting tasks where required to meet the pupil’s needs.
• Support the pupil in developing confidence, communication, and social skills.
• Encourage positive behaviour and maintain engagement throughout the day.
• Work collaboratively with teaching staff, SEN professionals, and parents.
• Support the implementation of personalised plans and EHCP targets.
• Provide feedback on progress and highlight any areas where additional support may be needed.
