Teaching Assistant Job in Darwen
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a committed Teaching Assistant to join a thriving Mainstream Primary School in Darwen. This temp-to-perm role offers long-term stability and the opportunity to become a valued member of a supportive school team.
Working closely with the SENCO, you will provide general classroom support while assisting SEND pupils in KS2 to achieve their learning goals. This role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting children and helping them succeed academically and socially.
Key Responsibilities
- Support teaching and learning across KS2 classrooms.
- Assist SEND pupils through tailored interventions and support strategies.
- Work collaboratively with teachers and the SENCO.
- Deliver one-to-one and small group support sessions.
- Help maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
- Encourage pupil engagement, confidence, and independence.
Requirements
- Previous Teaching Assistant or Learning Support experience preferred.
- Knowledge of SEND support strategies is desirable.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting children's wellbeing.
