Teaching Personnel is recruiting enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistants to work in a variety of primary and secondary schools across Christchurch (BH23), Bournemouth, Highcliffe, New Milton and surrounding areas.

Whether you are an experienced Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant (LSA), SEN Teaching Assistant, Youth Worker, Care Worker, or a graduate looking to gain classroom experience, we have a range of rewarding opportunities available.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils both academically and emotionally, helping them to achieve their full potential in a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting teachers in delivering engaging and effective lessons.
  • Providing 1:1 support and small group interventions.
  • Working with pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN), including Autism (ASC), ADHD, Speech and Language Needs, and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
  • Assisting with classroom management and promoting positive behaviour.
  • Supporting pupils' social, emotional and academic development.
  • Building positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
  • Adapting to different school settings and year groups where required.

Requirements

  • Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable.
  • Experience within education, care, youth work, coaching, support work or childcare is advantageous.
  • A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is preferred due to the location of some schools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A patient, positive and proactive attitude.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one through Teaching Personnel.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
