Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting for a 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with behavioural needs in a welcoming Cardiff primary school. This is an excellent opportunity for aspiring teachers, experienced Teaching Assistants, Behaviour Support Workers, Learning Support Assistants, or anyone looking to build a career in education.

Location: Cardiff
Start Date: ASAP
Pay Rate: £92.63 per day
Hours: Full-Time, Monday to Friday

About the Role

As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will provide dedicated support to a pupil with behavioural needs, helping them engage positively in the classroom and achieve their learning goals.

You will work closely with teachers, support staff, and parents to create a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment where the pupil can thrive both academically and socially.

This role offers a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in behaviour support, additonal learning needs (ALN), and primary education.

Your Responsibilities

  • Deliver dedicated 1:1 support throughout the school day.
  • Build a positive and trusting relationship with the pupil.
  • Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies.
  • Encourage participation, confidence, and engagement in learning.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other school staff.
  • Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment.
  • Follow safeguarding procedures and school policies at all times.

We're Looking For Someone Who

  • Has a passion for supporting children and young people.
  • Is patient, resilient, and proactive.
  • Can remain calm and positive in challenging situations.
  • Has strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Enjoys working as part of a supportive team.
  • Has experience working with children, education, youth work, care, sports coaching, or similar roles (desirable but not essential).

Requirements

  • Enhanced Child DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.
  • Ability to provide references covering the last two years.
  • Right to work in the UK.
