Are you an enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistant looking for your next opportunity in a primary school setting?

Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting for a caring and proactive Teaching Assistant to support a Year 4 class from September 2026. This is an excellent opportunity to make a positive impact on pupils' learning and development within a supportive school environment.

Role Details

Start Date: September 2026

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm

Pay: £92.63 – £95 per day

The Role

As a Year 4 Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher to help deliver engaging lessons and provide additional support to pupils where needed. You will assist with classroom activities, encourage pupil participation, and provide one-to-one or small group interventions to help children reach their learning goals.

The successful candidate will help maintain a positive classroom atmosphere and support pupils both academically and socially throughout the school day.

About You

The ideal candidate will be:

  • Passionate about supporting children's learning and development

  • Calm, patient and approachable

  • Confident working with Key Stage 2 pupils

  • Comfortable supporting children on an individual basis and in small groups

  • A strong team player with excellent communication skills

  • Previous experience supporting children with Additional Learning Needs is advantageous but not essential

Essential Requirements

Applicants must have:

  • An Enhanced DBS Certificate (or be willing to obtain one)

  • Current EWC registration

  • A minimum of three months' experience working in a school setting or a recognised Teaching Assistant qualification

If you do not currently hold an Enhanced DBS or EWC registration, Teaching Personnel can assist you with the application process. Please note that the associated costs are the responsibility of the applicant.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
