Job description

The Opportunity

Some children need a little extra support to achieve their potential. Others need someone who can provide consistency, encouragement and understanding throughout their school day.

Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting an ALN Learning Support Assistant to work within a primary school in Cardiff supporting pupils with a range of additional learning needs.


The Role

You will work closely with pupils who require additional support accessing education. Needs may include:

  • Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
  • ADHD
  • Speech and Language Difficulties
  • Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs (SEMH)
  • Moderate Learning Difficulties

Your role will involve:

  • Providing one-to-one support
  • Delivering intervention activities
  • Supporting pupils during lessons
  • Encouraging communication and social interaction
  • Assisting with emotional regulation strategies
  • Working closely with teachers and the ALNCo

What You'll Receive

Pay

  • £13.75+ per hour
  • Weekly PAYE pay

Development

  • Free ALN-specific CPD courses
  • Ongoing professional support

Progression

Experience That Would Be Beneficial

  • Teaching Assistant work
  • Care or support work
  • Youth work
  • Residential childcare
  • Psychology or education graduates
  • Previous ALN support experience

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
