Teaching Assistant

Are you passionate about supporting young people to overcome barriers to learning and achieve success?
We are seeking committed, resilient, and enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to join a specialist secondary provision supporting students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
Working with students aged 11–16, you will play a key role in helping young people engage with education, develop positive relationships, and build the confidence and skills needed for future success. Many of our students have experienced challenges that have impacted their learning and may present with additional needs such as ADHD, autism, anxiety, trauma-related behaviours, and difficulties with emotional regulation.

Key Responsibilities:
- Support students in lessons and across the school day.
- Build positive, trusting relationships with young people.
- Promote engagement, resilience, and positive behaviour.
- Provide individual and small-group interventions to support academic and personal development.
- Help create a safe, nurturing, and structured learning environment.
- Work closely with teachers, pastoral teams, and other professionals to support student progress.
What We Are Looking For:
- A patient, calm, and empathetic approach.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- The ability to remain resilient and adaptable in challenging situations.
- Experience working with young people, SEMH needs, SEND, youth work, care, sports coaching, or similar backgrounds is essential.
- A genuine commitment to supporting vulnerable students and helping them achieve their potential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
