Job description

This school is committed to providing exceptional learning experiences for students between KS2 and KS4 who are not able to attend mainstream education for various reasons. Their mission is to foster a dynamic and inclusive learning environment where students can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join the team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to supporting student success, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with teachers and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist classroom teachers with instructional activities and lesson preparation.
  • Provide individualised support to students with diverse learning needs.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Assist with classroom management and behaviour support strategies.
  • Collaborate with teachers to develop and implement engaging learning activities.
  • Provide feedback to teachers on student progress and performance.
  • Support students during independent work and group activities.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with students in an educational setting preferred.
  • Experience of working with children or adults with mental health difficulties - essential. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with students, teachers, and parents.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Patience, flexibility, and a positive attitude.
  • Understanding of diverse learning needs and ability levels.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
