Teaching Assistant Job Description:

We are seeking a reliable, enthusiastic, and committed Teaching Assistant to support teachers and pupils across Key Stage 3 (KS3) and Key Stage 4 (KS4). As a Secondary School Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting learning, behaviour, and pupil wellbeing in the classroom.


Role Responsibilities – Teaching Assistant:

  • Support teachers in the classroom across a range of subjects

  • Work with individual pupils and small groups to support learning and progress

  • Provide targeted support for pupils with SEN, SEMH, or additional learning needs

  • Assist with lesson delivery and classroom activities

  • Promote positive behaviour and engagement in lessons

  • Help create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment


Person Specification – Teaching Assistant Jobs:

  • Experience working in schools is highly desirable

  • Experience working with children or young people in any setting

  • A degree in Psychology (or a related subject) is advantageous

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • A patient, proactive, and supportive approach

  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff

  • A genuine interest in education and supporting young people
