Job description

Graduate Teaching Assistant/Teachers Needed

  • Graduate Teaching Assistants/Teachers required for secondary schools in and around the area of Slough and Maidenhead.
  • Both full and part time positions, with the option for regular but flexible work to fit around your availability.
  • Pay will be dependent on the days and hours you wish to work however you can expect to earn between £89.38 - £120
  • Previous experience working in a secondary school setting is preferred but not essential.

Teaching Personnel wish to recruit hard working Graduate Teaching Assistants/Teachers on behalf of a number of our client mainstream secondary schools in the area of Buckinghamshire and Berkshire areas. As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will provide much needed support to class teacher’s within the school, this may be supporting specific students 1:1 or in small groups. As a Graduate Teacher you will be covering lessons and teaching lesson material in the absence of a class Teacher.

As a Graduate Teaching Assistant working within our client schools no day will be the same and you must be flexible and able to adapt to a number of roles and situations.

  • You will be working within class as a Teaching Assistant ensuring that all students understand the work that is being set and will be there to give guidance to pupils when necessary.
  • You may be asked to work alongside identified students on a 1:1 basis – this could be pupils who have behaviour difficulties or students with SEN needs.
  • It will be your responsibility to monitor behaviour throughout the lesson and reduce instances of low level disruption.
  • You may be asked to provide General Cover or lessons in your specialist subject or lead small intervention sessions to students who require additional support.
  • You will have the opportunity to provide general cover amongst lessons - which will be perfect if you are considering a PGCE application in the future.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
