£14.25 per hour, £92.63 per day (based on a 6.5 hour day)

We are seeking enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to support pupils within a specialist Additional Learning Needs (ALN) Unit at a well-established secondary school in the Carmarthenshire area.
This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who are looking for the flexibility of supply work while gaining valuable experience in a highly supportive setting. Successful candidates may also have the opportunity to move into a full-time, permanent position depending on the needs of the school.
About the Students You'll Support
You will be working with pupils who may have a range of additional learning needs, including:
✅ Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
✅ Social, Emotional & Mental Health (SEMH) needs
✅ Communication and language difficulties
✅ Moderate learning difficulties
✅ Emotional and behavioural challenges
✅ Additional support needs that require personalised interventions

Your Responsibilities
As a Teaching Assistant, you will:
Support pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
Encourage engagement and participation in lessons
Help implement individual learning and behaviour plans
Build positive, trusting relationships with students
Support emotional wellbeing and social development
Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff
Create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment

✅ Essential Requirements
Experience working with children or young people in education, care, youth work, support work, coaching, or similar settings
Enhanced DBS Certificate on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
EWC Registration (or willingness to register)
Right to work in the UK
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
⭐ Desirable Experience
➕ Previous experience supporting ALN, SEN, ASC, ADHD, or SEMH learners
➕ Teaching Assistant or relevant childcare qualification
➕ Experience within specialist provisions or additional needs settings
