Location: Carmarthenshire
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm
Pay Rate: £14.25 per hour

Teaching Personnel is looking for enthusiastic, caring, and motivated Teaching Assistants to support pupils across a range of welcoming schools in Carmarthenshire. Whether you're an experienced Teaching Assistant, a recent graduate, or someone looking to start a rewarding career in education, we'd love to hear from you.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a vital role in the classroom, helping pupils build confidence, overcome challenges, and thrive both academically and socially.


The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you'll work closely with teachers and school staff to create a positive, engaging, and supportive learning environment where every child can succeed.

Your responsibilities may include:

✅ Supporting teachers with classroom activities and lesson delivery
✅ Working one-to-one or with small groups of pupils
✅ Supporting pupils with Additional Learning Needs (ALN)
✅ Encouraging positive behaviour and classroom participation
✅ Helping students build confidence and independence
✅ Preparing learning resources and assisting with classroom organisation
✅ Creating a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment


What We're Looking For

Essential:

❤️ A genuine passion for working with children and young people
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
Positive, patient, and caring attitude
Flexible and proactive approach to supporting learning
Ability to work effectively as part of a team

Desirable:

Previous experience in a school, childcare, youth work, care, or support setting
Experience supporting pupils with ALN/SEN
Level 2 or Level 3 Supporting Teaching & Learning qualification (or equivalent)
Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle

Don't worry if you don't have school-based experience. Relevant transferable skills and a passion for education are highly valued.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
