An Outstanding SEN School in Blackburn are currently seeking SEN TA's to support the needs of their specialist pupils. The school is a multi-faith school that provides high quality specialist education for children and young people aged 2 - 19 years with a wide range of learning needs, including autism, complex medical needs and sensory impairments. Pupils either attend the main SEND school which caters for children and young people with learning disabilities, complex medical needs and sensory impairments, or the school for Autism which is a specialist area for children and young people with Autism. (Please specify, upon applying, where your specialisms lie).

To be considered, your experience should include work in a specialist SEN school or setting, care work, youth work, nursing or a close personal connection to SEN e.g. a family member or friend whom you may have supported. This should be detailed on your CV in full.

Opportunities in school are currently on a day-to-day basis, however, for those who are suitable, this is leading to long-term and permanent work, therefore you must be flexible and willing to work on a supply basis initially. This school often recruit our staff on a permanent basis and this will be down to you to impress!

The school favour candidates who are upbeat, friendly, resilient, hardworking and those with a genuine passion to make a difference to the lives of children with SEN.

(Some pupils in school undertake hydrotherapy sessions, which includes the use of water / a pool to relieve pain and increase mobility. Although this isn't an essential part of the role, we favour those who are keen to engage in this activity).

Candidates with Team Teach and Moving and Handling are highly sought after.

You must be willing to offer personal care (including feeding, toileting and changing) if you wish to be considered. This is non-negotiable.

The roles will be on a full time basis (8:45am - 3:15pm) therefore those with full availability are highly sought after.

Please send a detailed CV if you wish to be considered for this role.
