Location: Yeovil, Somerset
Pay Rate: £13.75 per hour
Start Date: Immediate / Flexible

A dedicated SEN school in Yeovil is currently looking to recruit an enthusiastic and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team.

 

The Role

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside classroom teachers to deliver high-quality care, support and learning experiences to pupils aged 4–19 years. The students you will support have a range of special educational needs, including Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), non-verbal communication needs, physical disabilities and sensory impairments.

You will collaborate closely with teaching staff and senior leaders to help create a nurturing, structured and inclusive learning environment. The Ideal Candidate

The successful applicant will demonstrate:

  • A willingness and confidence to support with personal care
  • A patient, resilient, caring and innovative approach
  • Experience supporting SEN(D), either within or outside an educational setting
  • Clear verbal and non-verbal communication skills
  • The ability to work collaboratively with teachers, therapists and other support staff
  • An understanding of positive behaviour support strategies
  • Flexibility to work across different age groups
  • The ability to calmly and safely de-escalate challenging situations

 

Working Hours & Benefits

  • Full Time
  • Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday: 08:40 – 15:30
  • Wednesday: 08:40 – 15:45
  • Term-time only position
  • 12.07% holiday pay

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
