Teaching Assistant | ALN & Wellbeing Support

Location: Blaenau Gwent Area
Hours: Full-Time | Term Time Only
Salary: Competitive Daily Rate

Are you passionate about supporting young people and helping them achieve their full potential?

We are working with a welcoming and inclusive 11-16 secondary school in the Blaenau Gwent area seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to provide support to pupils requiring additional learning and wellbeing support.

The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teaching staff and pastoral teams to support pupils both inside and outside the classroom. The successful candidate will help students overcome barriers to learning, develop confidence, and achieve positive outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Providing 1:1 and small group support to students with Additional Learning Needs (ALN)
  • Supporting students with their social, emotional, and academic development
  • Assisting with classroom activities and differentiated learning tasks
  • Encouraging engagement, independence, and positive behaviour
  • Working collaboratively with teachers, pastoral staff, and families
  • Promoting a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment

  • Has a genuine passion for supporting learners with ALN

  • Can provide both academic and emotional support
  • Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

Requirements

  • Enhanced DBS Certificate (or willingness to obtain one)
  • EWC Registration (or willingness to register)
  • References covering the last two years
  • Right to work in the UK

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
