Job description

Full-Time Teacher – SEMH School (Wirral)

Location: Wirral
Contract: Full-Time

Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of young people with complex needs? An SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) school in Wirral is looking for a committed and experienced Full-Time Teacher to join their dedicated team.

This specialist setting supports 15 students, all with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). The role requires resilience, adaptability, and a nurturing approach to meet the needs of students who present extremely challenging behaviours.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven experience working in SEMH or similar specialist environments.
  • Strong behaviour management skills with a calm, supportive approach.
  • Ability to create a safe, structured, and engaging learning environment.
  • Collaborative mindset to work closely with support staff and external agencies.
  • Creativity and flexibility in planning lessons tailored to diverse abilities.

Essential Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in SEMH or alternative provision.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
