Teacher of Mathematics – Basingstoke

Full-Time | Long-Term and Permanent Opportunities | KS3 and KS4

Teaching Personnel is recruiting an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Teacher of Mathematics to support secondary schools across Basingstoke.

Schools in the area place a strong emphasis on mathematical confidence, problem-solving and real-world application. Local curricula encourage students to understand the reasoning behind mathematical methods, make connections between concepts and develop the knowledge needed for further education and employment.

The Role

As a Mathematics Teacher, you will:

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons across KS3 and KS4
  • Teach GCSE Mathematics at Foundation and Higher Tier
  • Develop students’ fluency, reasoning and problem-solving skills
  • Use assessment to monitor progress and address misconceptions
  • Adapt lessons for different abilities and additional needs
  • Maintain high expectations for behaviour and achievement
  • Prepare students for assessments and GCSE examinations
  • Work collaboratively with departmental colleagues
  • Contribute to enrichment opportunities such as puzzles and UKMT competitions

The Ideal Candidate

You will:

  • Hold QTS or an equivalent recognised qualification
  • Have strong secondary Mathematics subject knowledge
  • Understand the KS3 and GCSE Mathematics curriculum
  • Demonstrate effective classroom management
  • Explain complex concepts clearly and accessibly
  • Be committed to inclusive teaching and positive outcomes

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
