The English Department
The English Faculty is a collaborative and experienced team with a shared passion for developing students’ love of language and literature. The department is committed to:
- Delivering a broad and engaging curriculum across KS3 and KS4
- Developing strong skills in reading, writing, analysis and communication
- Supporting students of all abilities to achieve success in both English Language and Literature
- Driving continued improvement in outcomes across the cohort
The department works closely together to share expertise, plan effectively and reduce workload through a collegial approach.
Teaching spaces are well‑resourced and include dedicated classrooms with access to a wide range of texts, technology and teaching materials to support effective delivery.
The Role
You will:
- Teach English Language and Literature across KS3 and KS4
- Plan and deliver engaging, challenging and well‑structured lessons
- Use assessment effectively to monitor and support student progress
- Contribute to departmental planning and curriculum development
- Support wider literacy initiatives and enrichment opportunities
