English Teacher – KS3 & KS4

 

Location: Southampton, Hampshire

Start date: ASAP

 

A Secondary School located in Southampton is seeking a passionate English Teacher to join their team! This will initially be on a long-term temporary basis, with opportunities to roll over to a permanent position!

This opportunity is well suited to Early Career Teachers wishing to gain further experience or experienced teachers seeking a new dynamic role.

 

The Role

An English specialist who:

  • Delivers engaging, challenging and inspiring English lessons across KS3 and KS4
  • Has strong subject knowledge and a genuine passion for English Language and Literature
  • Creates a positive, inclusive and well‑managed classroom environment
  • Is committed to raising achievement and supporting every learner
  • Contributes to curriculum development, enrichment, and wider school life
  • Works collaboratively with colleagues as part of a supportive and ambitious English department

 

The Ideal Candidate

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential
  • Enhanced Child DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
  • Confident and adaptable in the classroom
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with students
  • Genuine enthusiasm for educating young people
