General Cover Teacher – SEMH Provision

We are currently looking for a General Cover Teacher to join an SEMH setting, supporting pupils who may have experienced barriers to education and require a more individualised approach to learning.

This is an excellent opportunity for a teacher who enjoys building meaningful relationships with pupils and creating a classroom environment where young people feel safe, supported and able to succeed.

What will you be doing?

As a General Cover Teacher, you will:

• Deliver lessons across a variety of subjects and age groups.

• Follow lesson plans and adapt activities where necessary.

• Provide clear, consistent and positive classroom management.

• Develop strong professional relationships with pupils.

• Support pupils with a range of social, emotional and behavioural needs.

• Encourage engagement, confidence and positive attitudes towards learning.

• Work alongside experienced teachers, support staff and pastoral teams.

• Contribute to a safe, structured and inclusive school environment.

What are we looking for?

• Qualified Teachers or experienced educators.

• Calm, patient and approachable.

• Confident managing challenging behaviour.

• Flexible and able to adapt to different situations.

• Passionate about supporting young people who need additional guidance.

• Consistent in their approach and able to maintain clear boundaries.

• Reliable, professional and committed to safeguarding.

Previous SEMH, SEN, PRU or alternative provision experience would be advantageous, but is not essential.
