We are seeking a caring and enthusiastic SEND Teaching Assistant to join our supportive secondary school team in the Surrey area. This is a rewarding opportunity to work closely with students, helping them develop academically, socially, and emotionally within an inclusive learning environment.
The Role
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside teachers and the wider SEND team to provide tailored support for students with additional learning needs. You will play a vital role in helping students access the curriculum, build confidence, and achieve positive outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing one-to-one and small group support to students with SEND.
- Assisting teachers in delivering engaging and differentiated lessons.
- Supporting students with learning, communication, social, emotional, and behavioural needs.
- Helping to implement individual support plans and EHCP targets.
- Encouraging student independence, confidence, and resilience.
- Monitoring progress and providing feedback to teachers and the SENDCo.
- Building positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
- Supporting students during lessons, breaktimes, educational visits, and school activities where required.

The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a SEND Teacher Assistant who:
- Has experience working with children or young people, ideally within an educational setting.
- Has an understanding of SEND, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, SEMH, or learning difficulties.
- Is patient, compassionate, and adaptable.
- Possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Can work effectively as part of a team.
- Is committed to promoting inclusion and student wellbeing.
- Has a positive and proactive approach to supporting learning.
A Teaching Assistant qualification or relevant training would be advantageous but is not essential.

Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
