Higher Teaching Assistant (SEN)
Location: Luton
Salary: £85–£120 per day (dependent on experience)
Hours: 8:30am–3:30pm (may vary by up to 45 minutes), Monday–Friday, term time only
Contract: Full-time

About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a warm, inclusive school community in Luton. You will work closely with children with SEN, providing vital support both inside and outside the classroom.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with SEN.
- Assist learning during lessons and support pupils during break and lunchtimes.
- Work collaboratively with the class teacher on daily classroom activities.
- Help maintain an organised, safe, and engaging classroom environment.
- Encourage a positive, inclusive atmosphere where every child can succeed.
Who We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate will:
- Have experience working with SEN children (desirable but not essential).
- Be patient, reliable, and committed to supporting young people.
- Show strong initiative and a proactive approach.
- Hold, or be willing to obtain, an Enhanced DBS (Update Service).
- Have permanent UK residency (essential).

Safer Recruitment

- Provide two recent professional references (covering the past 24 months).
- Complete an Overseas Police Check if you have lived abroad for 6+ months within the last 5 years.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
