Supportive primary school roles with flexibility and guidance

Are you looking for a Teaching Assistant role within a supportive primary school environment, either to build experience, return to education after a break or take the next step in your TA career?

Teaching Personnel is working closely with a number of friendly and well organised primary schools across Ormskirk and Burscough, and we are recruiting Teaching Assistants to support pupils across EYFS, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.

These roles are well suited to individuals who value clear expectations, on the job support and flexible working patterns.


About the role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside class teachers to support pupils with their learning, engagement and development.

Responsibilities may include:

  • General classroom support across the primary age range
  • Supporting pupils on a 1:1 or small group basis
  • Assisting with learning activities and classroom routines
  • Supporting pupils with additional needs, including SEN
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and inclusion

Opportunities range from day to day supply through to short term and longer term placements, with roles matched carefully to your experience, confidence level and availability.

Requirements

  • Experience working with children or young people in any setting (school based or transferable)
  • A calm, patient and positive approach
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and school staff
  • Willingness to learn and develop within the role
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply
