We have an opportunity to place a Support Worker in an OFSTED ‘Outstanding’ rated school for pupils aged 9 - 18 years with moderate and/or complex learning difficulties.
This support worker’s role would be to support the children in their development. Depending on the needs of the children /class you would support, this may be communication activities, play centred tasks or holistic therapies. Your role would be supported by a Teacher and one or more Teaching Assistants.
This school has excellent facilities to support the development of the pupils as seen by their Visual Arts, Technology and Sport Specialist status. This is supplemented with access to a full-time speech and language therapist, specialist trained teaching assistants, the support of the Disability Team, access to hydrotherapy when needed, two learning mentors, trained therapists for OT, physiotherapy and mental health. The school’s reputation is well regarded in the local community and the motives of the school are further recognized with its recent OFSTED rating being outstanding in all areas inspected. The ideal candidate for this role would have:

Experience of working with people with complex learning difficulties

A calm and patient manner to support pupils through difficult times.

Someone who is comfortable with outdoor play and support if needed.
The school is situated in the Eccles area of Salford, with public transport links nearby.
To be successful in your application, you must be able to provide evidence of this as skills and experience.
Please be aware that all applicants will be subject to background checks and will need a current DBS certificate (update service registered). Teaching Personnel can support your application should this be required.
Working hours are Monday to Friday, 8.30am-3.30pm approximately, but you may be offered additional duties and responsibilities outside of these hours.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
