Supply Teaching Assistant

Location: Washington and surrounding areas
Start: Ongoing
Hours: Full-time and Part-time opportunities available
Minimum availability: 2 days per week

Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a number of primary schools in and around the Washington area and are looking to recruit qualified Supply Teaching Assistants to support pupils across Early Years, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.

This role offers excellent flexibility, with full-time supply available for candidates who are adaptable, as well as part-time opportunities. Access to your own vehicle is desirable to allow travel to a variety of local schools.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support pupils’ learning on a 1:1, small group or whole-class basis
  • Assist class teachers with lesson delivery and classroom activities
  • Provide support for pupils with SEN or additional needs where required
  • Help maintain a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Support positive behaviour management in line with school policies
  • Assist with classroom preparation and general support tasks
  • Adapt confidently to different schools, year groups and classroom settings

Key Requirements

  • A recognised Teaching Assistant qualification (essential)
  • Previous experience working with children in a school or education setting
  • Confidence supporting pupils across EYFS, KS1 and/or KS2
  • Availability for a minimum of 2 days per week
  • A caring, patient and proactive approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
  • Access to your own vehicle (desirable but not essential)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
