SEMH & Alternative Provision Teacher – Long-Term Opportunity | Portsmouth

Teaching Personnel is partnering with specialist schools and alternative provisions across Portsmouth to recruit talented teachers for term-to-term assignments.

This is an excellent opportunity for educators who are passionate about supporting young people who have experienced barriers to learning and require a more personalised educational approach.

About the Role:

  • Lead classes within specialist SEN, SEMH, and Alternative Provision settings
  • Plan, deliver, and assess learning tailored to individual needs
  • Work collaboratively with support staff, families, and external agencies
  • Promote positive behaviour, engagement, and emotional wellbeing

We're Looking For:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS)
  • Proven experience supporting pupils with complex SEN or SEMH needs
  • Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills
  • A creative, flexible, and child-centred approach to teaching

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
