Sporty Teaching Assistant
Location: Carmarthen
Hours: 8:30 – 3:30
Salary: £89.38 per day
Are you a passionate, energetic and active individual that is enthusiastic about supporting children and young people? This position would be ideal for someone who thrives in a lively environment and wants to create an impact on the pupils learning and wellbeing.
Experience isn’t essential - just the right attitude, willingness to learn and confidence to get involved.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting the teacher with lesson preparation and delivery
- Provide 1:1 or small group mentoring to those with ALN/SEN and other complex needs
- Use your sporty background to your advantage to keep the pupils engaged and motivated to learn
- Assist the class teacher with daily tasks and small group activities
- Promote a healthy, safe and nurturing environment
- Promote positive behaviour and help pupils regulate during challenging situations
The Ideal Candidate will have/be:
- Active, enthusiastic and enjoys getting involved
- Experience playing a sport or activity
- Strong behaviour management and confident in providing 1:1 support
- Experience in youth work, mentoring or education support roles (preferred but not essential)
- A compassionate and easily approachable individual who’s able to build relationships and trust.
- Hold a full UK driving license
- Have an enhanced DBS child only (or able to obtain one)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
