Location: Bournemouth, Dorset
Salary: £26,016
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time (37 hours per week)

A specialist SEN/PRU primary school in Bournemouth is looking for a Sports, Health & Wellbeing Lead to join their dedicated team. This is a fantastic opportunity to combine your love of sport with a role that truly changes lives!


What You’ll Do

As our Sports, Health & Wellbeing Lead, you’ll play a key role in promoting physical activity and healthy lifestyles across the school. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and delivering engaging sports and wellbeing sessions tailored to pupils’ needs
  • Promoting healthy eating and positive lifestyle choices throughout the school community
  • Building partnerships with external agencies to enhance our wellbeing offer

You’ll design creative, inclusive activities that inspire pupils to learn beyond the classroom and develop essential life skills. Our pupils have a range of needs, including:

  • Social, Emotional & Mental Health (SEMH) difficulties
  • Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
  • ADHD
  • Speech & Language challenges
  • Other behavioural needs

Your work will help broaden cultural capital and create memorable experiences that prepare pupils for adulthood.


What We’re Looking For

  • Experience supporting children with SEMH/SEND needs
  • Strong background in sports and physical education
  • Ability to manage and de-escalate challenging behaviour calmly
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Knowledge of positive behaviour support strategies
  • Creative, proactive approach to curriculum design

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
