Sports Coaches & Sports Graduates – Secondary Schools in Stockton-on-Tees
Teaching Personnel is partnering with a number of secondary schools across Stockton-on-Tees to support the recruitment of Sports Coaches and Sports Graduates who are keen to start or develop a career within education.
These opportunities are well suited to candidates with qualifications or experience in areas such as Sport Science, Physical Education, Sports Coaching, or Sports Development, who are eager to gain hands-on school experience and make a positive impact on young people. The roles also provide an excellent stepping stone into careers such as PE teaching, pastoral support, learning support, or behaviour mentoring.
The role will involve:
- Assisting with PE lessons and practical physical activities
- Supporting learning in the classroom as a Teaching Assistant
- Working with small groups or individuals, using sport as a tool for engagement
- Encouraging positive behaviour, focus, and motivation for learning
- Helping to run extracurricular sports clubs and enrichment sessions
- Adhering to safeguarding requirements and school policies
This role would suit:
- Graduates with sports-related degrees
- Qualified or experienced sports coaches (club, academy, or grassroots level)
- Individuals considering a long-term career in education or youth-focused roles
- Confident, proactive, and enthusiastic personalities
- Those with prior experience working with young people (coaching, mentoring, camps, tutoring, after-school clubs, etc.)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
